Most of us are hardly qualified to write about the legend called John Wooden. The man has been one of the greatest coaches of his time and has lived a life that is an inspiration to many.
Wooden created a dynasty which is hard to find even today and to which all other looks pale. His teams at U.C.L.A. went to win 10 national championships in a 12-season stretch from 1964 to 1975.
From 1971 to 1974, U.C.L.A. won 88 consecutive games which is still the N.C.A.A record.
Wooden was appreciated not for his professional contributions, but personally he was loved and respected by everyone.
He was extremely humble, simple and down to earth. He lived his life with simple elegance and an understated approach. Even after he retired, his popularity did not diminish a bit and he always entertained everyone with a mild and gentle approach.
